My Portrait Of Italy

Good Morning once again from the Garden Cafe!! I am back from the most romantic and cultural country in the world. I have been fascinated by Italy's classical origins, its art, architecture, musical and literary traditions, its scenery, food and wine. I have been touched with the medieval and early renaissance art. Fresco technniques of paintings painted on damp plaster, where as the color becomes fixed as the plaster dries. And of coarse these paintings have lasted since the early renaissance. It blows my mind how the colors illuminate.

The beauty of Italy's early history and architecture is still preserved today. It's hard not to walk around with out missing some sort of sculpture glearing down at you from every corner.

The Tuscany region is where the past and present merge in pleasant harmony. The picturesque vineyards and olive groves cover the countryside. Farmhouses, villas and castles cover the enchanting pastoral landscapes where wine and famous artistic treasures cover the hills of Chianti.

Now that I'm home I have a renewed sense of artistic inspiration and creative expression. So think about doing alittle scenic traveling through the Mediterranean and enjoy the ancient collections of early renaissance and gothic art!!!
